3. Maintenance
Ongoing maintenance is essential to ensure that iTokens indices remain accurate, relevant, and aligned with their objectives. This involves a series of procedures that ensure the indices are consistently updated to reflect market developments. These processes include, but are not necessarily limited to:
Rebalancing Frequency Indices are rebalanced monthly unless stated otherwise in the specific index methodology. Regular rebalancing ensures the index remains representative of its intended market or theme, accounting for changes in constituent performance, market conditions, or eligibility criteria.
Addition and Deletion Rules Constituents may be added or removed based on criteria described in the "Asset Universe Definition" section. This ensures consistency and clarity in determining eligibility. Changes are implemented carefully to minimize disruptions, with advance notice provided to stakeholders when possible, however at least three days in advance.
Token-Specific Event Handling Events such as forks, token migrations, and staking mechanics are managed systematically to maintain the integrity of the index. The Oversight Committee evaluates such events, taking into account all available information, including general ecosystem sentiment and technical feasibility. Adjustments are made to ensure the index continues to accurately reflect its intended market or ecosystem.
Error Management Errors in data, calculations, or constituent lists are addressed promptly to maintain trust and accuracy. If significant errors are identified, the index may be recalculated, and stakeholders will be notified of the corrections and their impact.
These maintenance processes ensure that iTokens indices remain robust, adaptable, and reflective of the dynamic cryptocurrency landscape.
